Enkanyisweni Parish

Enkanyisweni was founded in 1977. Therefore it is one of the youngest Parishes in Empangeni Circuit. Enkanyisweni consists of 8 congregations and two preaching places: Enkanyisweni, Esikhawini, Ekuphileni, Ogobandlovu, Empembeni, Emdlangu, Richards Bay and Mandlanzini, the preaching places being Ekuthuthukeni and Aquadene. Seven of the congregations are located in or near Esikhaleni, three are in or around Richards Bay. The church building of Enkanyisweni congregation was officially dedicated by Bishop L.E. Dlamini on the 17. Sept. 1978 and it was since then extended twice. Bishop L. Sibiya blessed the extension on the 01. Nov. 1998.

Today the Enkanyisweni is the biggest Parish in number of members and in financial contributions in Empangeni Circuit.

The younger congregations which were founded are the two congregations Richards Bay and Mandlanzini and the preaching place Aquadene. They were established in the late 1990’s and the beginning of the new millennium. Following are the pastors that served Enkanyisweni Parish:

2008-2013 Rev. T.G. Nxumalo

2014-present Rev. B.T.M. Magubane

There are a number of Self-Supporting Pastors and an additional Full-time Pastor in the Parish: Rev. L.B. Mjadu, Rev. A.B.C. Simelane, Rev. D.B. Nsibande, Rev. P.W. Mbhele and Rev. S.Gensicke
